Drexel IDSA

About the Project

In March 2020, I was appointed Graphic Designer for Drexel’s chapter of Industrial Designers Society of America. My job was to rebrand the club’s Instagram. This happened just as Drexel moved online for the lockdown, and the club’s only means of communication was through social media. It was important that their Instagram was active and engaging.

Logo

Many product design students at Drexel are drawn to soft, curvilinear forms, so I emulated that with the letters. I included spikes and a tail following the S for the university mascot, the dragon. Our school colors are navy and gold, so I used a bright yet sophisticated blue along with white.

Instagram Posts

In our studio space at Drexel, there is a bulletin board for Drexel IDSA events; however, since Drexel moved online, the students don’t have access to the bulletin board. Because of this, I modeled the posts as if they are taped or pinned onto a wall. I made tape and pushpin icons in yellow to accent the blue of our logo. I worked with a simple yet modern sans serif font along with a font I made based off the letters in the logo.
